The redesigned site for this design is located at the sea along Singapore’s river outside Esplanade. The design concept came from the context of humans and sea, which adds up to create the idea of designing a swimming pool in the in the sea opened for public.
In addition, as Marina Bay Sand hotel is directly opposite to the site, the pool in contrast is also given back to the public as the infinity pool at Marina Bay Sand hotel is a semi-private pool and is opened only to people who are staying in the hotel. |
In this design, the pool is returned to the public to allow them to swim in the opened sea, having the same majestic feel.
The swimming pool is designed in different levels to have a different view of perspective. When swimmers is in the pool relaxing of swimming, it gives them the majestic feel close to the sea. On top of that, there are rows of trees in the pool to provide shade and allows shadows to cast on the pool. |
